What Airport is best to fly in to?
Malaga. Both Ryanair & Aerlingus fly to Malaga. It is approx. 40 minute drive to Nerja.
How to get from Malaga to Nerja?
There are a number of transfer companies. So far, everyone seems to be flying in on different dates & at different times. If you want to be added to a Nerja Whatsapp group, please let Jen / Sheamus know. You can then arrange with other people who may be on the same flights to book transfers for more cost effenciency.
What Hotel is the wedding in and what time?
Just in case it isn't 100% clear on the main page:
Wedding Hotel - Ona Marinas de Nerja. Drinks Reception: 3.30pm. Wedding Ceremony: 4pm sharp
Nerja Taxi Company
0034 952523700
Uber
Nerja also has Uber - download the app on your phone, set it up with your card so it is ready to use if needed
What about getting a rental car?
The drive from airport to Nerja is relatively easy. However parking is not as easy. Most car parks have a waiting list to get into them and can be approx. €15 per day. On street parking is free but hard to get. You can walk most places or get a taxi so a car isn’t really necessary.
What time to arrive at the hotel Venue?
For those making their own way, please do not arrive much earlier than 3.30pm. They cannot open the drinks reception area before this time. If you are a few minutes early, there is space to wait inside the lobby or staff can direct you where to wait. The bride is going to be ready to walk down the aisle at 4pm sharp so if you want a few glasses of bubbles before this, please ensure to arrive between 3.30pm-3.50pm.
What time will the wedding night finish?
The music and bar will finish at 2am. All guests not staying in the hotel have to be off the premises by 2.30am latest. This is due to noise restriction regulations that the hotel have to adhere to in their permit. If you're not staying at Perla Marina, you can always get a bus back to there and the coast walk stretches from there right towards the town (approx. 10-12 minute walk) so if staying in other hotels, chances are this walk will also bring you to where you need to go!
Why do we keep mentioning Hotel Perla Marina to stay in?
It is quite central, clean, has 2 pool areas, the beach literally touches the back of it so if pool areas are full it is an option, and it is along the coast walk, which if you follow will have you in the centre in approx. 10-15 minutes, depending how quickly you want to walk. Breakfast is good (if you include that option) and bathrooms in the rooms have a hair dryer.
Hair & Makeup
We were unable to book a service for guests as people are staying in various locations and we had to have exact numbers in order to secure them for a date. However, Nerja has many hair and make up salons, some with excellent reviews. Guests will need to book their own individual needs.
DON'T FORGET THE BUG SPRAY!
When we visited in September there were quite a lot of Mosquitos, we aren't sure if it was the time of year or being located so close to the water but best to the prepared and pack the bug spray.
How to get To & From the Wedding Venue if not staying there the night of the wedding?
We have been able to arrange buses to take people from the top of the street at Perla Marina to the Wedding Venue and back again. Taxis will be next to impossible to get individually which could mean people might miss the pre-drinks in the garden before the ceremony. Perla Marina is also on a one way street (and we are not the only wedding in Nerja that weekend!) and the Wedding venue itself is kind of out of the way. Buses will leave from the top of the road at 3.10pm sharp to go to the Wedding Venue to arrive for 3.30pm. Then leave the Wedding Venue, back to Perla Marina at 1am and 2am. We've included this question in the RSVP section if you wish to avail.
